Piagendo

physical literalism for interpretational music

This rendition of Franz Liszt's 1882 composition, La Lugubre Gondola II, reinterprets physical and emotional terminology such as Piagendo (crying) and Pedale (pedaling) in a literal fashion, using muscle sensor data to affect the tempo and volume at which notes are played. The result is an intimately physical interpretation of this particular composition as well as potentialities for giving new life to classical compositions.
